The book, ‘Qatar Achievements on Vocational Safety’ highlights the country’s progress and development. It also shows Qatar’s drive to cater to labourers and guaranteeing the fundamental rights of workers.

One of the many missions of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment is to follow the directives of H.H. the Emir, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and maintaining the right balance between sustainable development and the environment, in order to preserve the future generations’ rights to live in a healthy and safe environment.

By observing such directives, the State of Qatar has been able to provide a unique model for preserving and protecting the environment. In this regard, Qatar has enhanced its commitment to preserve its environmental legacy. The Ministry of Environment is supporting occupational safety in various sectors and raising safety awareness among workers to avoid accidents at worksites. The ministry confirmed its implementation of various programs and training workshops in the field of safety, security and health, in cooperation with different governmental entities to ensure high level of awareness and commitment to the rules pertaining to safety regulations.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ahmed Al-Sada, Assistant Under Secretary for Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, said: “Promotion and implementation of health and safety has always been one of the prime objectives of the nation; and in these troubled times, they assume even greater significance. It becomes imperative for us that we are even more careful than before because the next two years are going to prove crucial for us with regards to staging a successful and memorable World Cup.”
